I’ve done quite a bit of work as an independent composer. Much of this has been for music houses, which are basically companies that stockpile short musical compositions and license them to be used in all types of media. You hear them all the time: one after another in any given TV show, as radio or TV bumpers, as musical beds on promos, etc. Music houses are always looking for sound-alikes which are pieces of music that sound like popular pieces of music but are much cheaper to license. This particular track is a sound-alike of the Sopranos theme. It actually doesn’t sound all that much like the original, but I think it captures its spirit. Bada bing!
